This is truly one of the most exquisite collage pieces I have ever seen! And to think all of that happens on such a small piece of paper! You're amazing Gayle!

love your work, i just wrote this but lost it somewhere in cyber space. anyway, i live now near Salida and am a 50 yr. working artist. watercolor, batik, graphic artist, watercolor teacher on cruise ships etc.... crested butte, steamboat and Boulder.

I have yupo paper but don't know what to do with it. i love the effects you get with collage. I want to break out of my fabric collage technique and experiment.

do you do workshops with the blue pig or the art center? pls. let me know via email if there is some workshop i can take with you. you are very talented, have great color sense, and your 2d design is very good for not having an arts background. I'm so glad you found your "niche". pls. write, joanie

Hi Gayle. Today, I showed the paintings on your website to my students. They could not believe they were made of collaged papers. I also had them take landscapes from their magazine speed searches and come up with three thumbnails of landscape layouts. We talked about high and low HL and how the position of the HL on the paper affects the viewpoint from which we see objects.
They drew simple line drawings on a piece of stretched w/c paper and tomorrow, during a 90-minute period, we'll start the group landscapes. It should be fun. They are intrigued. Thanks so much for sharing the idea with me. You are very generous.
