This was a commission that I did for a good friend who is a dedicated horsewoman. I used pictures of horses to depict her long curly hair. This was done from a photo reference.

This collage is done on a 12×12 cradled board (it looks like a box). It is part of my forest series and was created with magazine papers, paint and tissue papers.
Forests are magical places and I try to recreate that magic by concentrating on the light shining from behind the trees. You are apt to see things real and imagined in this light.
This piece sold to a high school art teacher which makes me extremely happy.

Segovia Cathedral

I did this collage as my first all magazine collage demonstration in a class that I taught at the Art Center in Grand Junction.
It is based on a photo that I took of the magnificant cathedral in Segovia, Spain which was lit up on a summer’s evening.
It is in the collection of an artist and collector of modern art from Chicago who now lives in Grand Junction.
