Havana Serenade SOLD
This piece was a class demonstration on using connecting geometrics. It took on a life of its own as another rumination on our Cuban experiences. I am sure it means something profound—but to me it is a celebration of the Cuban people and their music. This piece is part of the collection of a popular […]
Family – NFS
I did this collage to see if I could successfully do portrait collages. This piece depicts my son and his family. I incorporated my grand-daughter’s artwork, my son’s artwork, many photos of the family at various points in their lives. The reference for this was a photo from a holiday card.
Meta Muse – SOLD
I struggled with this “made up” portrait until I decided to overlay a manipulated photo of the Mona Lisa printed on transparent vellum on top of the face. So this piece is a homage to Leonardo DaVinci in a round about way. There are at least nine layers of collage pieces in most of this […]
Mountains, Mesas and So On-SOLD
This is one of my “layered landscapes” which I built on top of a collaged piece of yupo. I had no reference for this. It is completely made up. I live in the land of mountains and mesas in Colorado, so I guess it just happens by environmental osmosis. This piece belongs to a collector.
Old Tulips – SOLD
I love to do floral still lifes in collage. I start with a collaged ground and build the still life on top using many layers. Still life art can be static, but with the layers of images underneath the main subject matter, I find it exciting to see how much meaning and content I can […]
Sheep Sanctuary SOLD

This collage is done on a 12×12 cradled board (it looks like a box). It is part of my forest series and was created with magazine papers, paint and tissue papers. Forests are magical places and I try to recreate that magic by concentrating on the light shining from behind the trees. You are apt […]
The Capitalist
This is an example of a portrait collage that I did as a demonstration. I shot a photo of my husband at his desk and did the collage based on that photo and my long-time experience of looking at his face. It is done with found papers and tissue and washi papers on his face. […]
Segovia Cathedral-SOLD
I did this collage as my first all magazine collage demonstration in a class that I taught at the Art Center in Grand Junction. It is based on a photo that I took of the magnificant cathedral in Segovia, Spain which was lit up on a summer’s evening. It is in the collection of an […]
Viva Cuba Libre NFS
I did this collage in response to a trip to Cuba. It was prompted by picking up a tattered piece of paper off the ground which reminded me of the decrepit building facades in Havana. The tattered paper is in the left hand corner and towards the middle (three pieces in total)of the piece. So […]
